Seasoned Healthcare Industry Executives to Help Drive Strategic Growth
July 29, 2021– Unified Women’s Healthcare (“Unified” or the “Company”), a leading practice management platform in women’s healthcare, today announced the appointment of Bryony Winn, Chief Strategy Officer of Anthem, Inc., and Dr. Trent Haywood, Chief Medical Officer of Zing Health and former Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, to the Board of Directors. Together, Ms. Winn and Dr. Haywood bring over three decades of experience spearheading strategic growth initiatives as well as delivering savings and quality improvements at global healthcare organizations.

Bryony Winn Biography
Ms. Winn is the Chief Strategy Officer of Anthem, Inc., a leading health benefits company dedicated to improving lives and communities and making healthcare simpler for its 40 million members. Ms. Winn previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, where she led strategic growth, partnership, and customer initiatives that resulted in 80% growth in membership over 5 years. Prior, Ms. Winn served as a Partner for McKinsey and Company, where she consulted for a wide range of private and public-sector healthcare clients on growth strategy and government business topics.
A native of Zimbabwe, Ms. Winn was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2019, where she sits on both the WEF health platform and the Strategy Officer councils. Previously named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Emerging Leaders, she is also a Visiting Fellow for the Duke Margolis Center for Health Policy. In 2021, Ms. Winn joined the Fast Company Impact Council. Ms. Winn received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English; Philosophy and Psychology with triple distinction, and a Master’s degree in English Literature from Rhodes University, where she remains an active alumnus via Rhodes University USA. As a Rhodes Scholar, she received her Master’s in Philosophy at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. While working towards accessible and affordable health care remains her professional focus, Ms. Winn is equally passionate about promoting gender equality as a means for improving people’s lives.
Trent Haywood Biography
Dr. Haywood is the Founder of Knowality, LLC, a healthcare venture services firm dedicated to accelerating market adoption for healthcare startups. Previously, Dr. Haywood served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (“BCBS”), where he led the development of medical policy, platforms, and clinical programs for BCBS’ 107 million members and business expansion into emerging areas. Prior, Dr. Haywood served in a variety of leadership and executive positions, including as founder and President of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Institute, founder and CEO of Dichotomy Options, and SVP and Chief Medical Officer for Vizient, Inc.
Dr. Haywood is currently a member of the Medical Advisory Board for Teladoc Health and a member of the Clinical Advisory Board for Change Healthcare. Dr. Haywood has also received numerous honors and distinctions, including as one of the Top 70 African American Healthcare Leaders by Becker’s Hospital Review in 2020 and as a Top 25 Minority Healthcare Executive by Modern Healthcare in 2016. Dr. Haywood received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, School of Medicine, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Northwestern University’s School of Law.
