Women are 2x more likely to experience depression than men.

Fewer than 1/2 of the women who experience clinical depression will ever seek care.

49% of Americans live in a mental health workforce shortage area.

Unified is committed to ensuring that women are supported at every stage of their healthcare journeys – and that includes both their mental and physical health.
To help address the significant unmet mental health needs of women, Unified is now empowering affiliated providers with additional support for behavioral health screenings, tailored to the needs of the patient and the comfort of the providers.
We believe that behavioral health screenings should become a routine part of every well-woman visit, just like a breast exam or pap smear.
If the patient screens positive at that time, and is not currently receiving treatment, the provider can help that patient through either

Collaborative Care

Collaborative Care

Our collaborative care model is one where the provider and behavioral health manager – accessible through an established Unified partner – work together to manage the condition.
In addition to helping patients who may feel uncomfortable accessing care elsewhere, the collaborative care model allows providers to remain engaged in a patient’s care, while supporting the quadruple aim framework to optimize health system performance.

Improving provider
satisfaction

With this model, Unified affiliated providers can choose to work with one
of several partners to manage conditions like depression or anxiety.

Behavioral Health Referrals

In instances where a patient’s behavioral health needs may be greater than their woman’s health provider can manage, the provider can refer to a behavioral health specialist that already partners with Unified. Patients can typically schedule the first appointment within two weeks or less.
Through this process, the provider has additional resources readily available, which helps reduce strain on the provider and facilitates easier patient access to the appropriate care.
With either option, Unified’s strong partnerships make the right resources available, at the right time, to improve patient outcomes.
