Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October 2, 2023 — One in eight U.S. women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. When diagnosed in its earliest stages, however, the five-year relative survival rate is 99%.

In the U.S., Breast Cancer Awareness Month is recognized each October to help raise awareness about breast cancer, and the importance of early detection and access to high-quality care.

The Unified community is commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October, starting with our inaugural Pink Week, October 2-6.  UnifiedCares will donate to Sisters Network, Inc., in honor of every team member and affiliated care center employee who participates in Pink Week. Unified community members are encouraged to wear pink during Pink Week to help educate others about the disease, encourage screenings and demonstrate their support for those facing breast cancer.

Sisters Network, Inc. is a national non-profit organization that aims to improve Black women’s access to mammograms, quality breast cancer care and resources. Unified is proud to support this organization and help them fulfill their mission while directly addressing disparities in women’s health.
